Rousseau
I have a dreaming problem: I dream so much, so intensely that I have difficulty waking up in the morning. When I do awaken, I usually have a headache, sometimes feel slightly nauseated and am ensconsed in a mental fog. Unless I review (or recount) my dream immediately, I forget it. Just as well ( although I am writing a series of poems based on dream images.) My dreams exhaust me.
The work of the post-impressionist painters was very dream-like, wasn't it? Matisse, Gaugin, Rousseau, Van Gogh.... Perhaps that's why I am so drawn to it?

so, I recently returned from San Francisco; naturally, this New York TImes guide came out today. Not that it would have changed my trip, just that it makes me want to go back. That and listening to Joni Mitchell in the car.

Disclaimer: * I know you were really, really busy and slammed for time...
But next time you come to SF, Please CALL me!!!! It's totally drivable for me. AND, I live only 35 minutes from Stanford (in good traffic)....!
Okay. Next time :)
YIKES I did not know you lived that close to Paly...
But yeah, didn't have a minute to myself. Sat and Sun were grad festivities and Mon we moved him from undergrad to grad housing and then went straight to airport. (grueling.)
but wow. I definitely must come back.
i just took a pic of this at the MOMA last week, and in my haste, i (erroneously? idiotically?) left the flash on. what was cool, though, was the light emenated from her heart... tres cool.
hmm. my dreams are very intense as well. coincidence?
And I'd love to see you, too, M.
Tim and I moved to San Jose last month, so Palo Alto is merely a hop and a skip away, with hardly any need at all for jumping.
